FIC: Simple

Title: Simple
Character(s): Caspian X, Edmund Pevensie, Peter Pevensie (mentioned)
Pairing(s): Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie
Rating: T
Setting: Prince Caspian
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.
Notes: Probably more book-verse than film-verse, although definitely film-verse casting (and reference to Peter’s characterisation from the film).  This explores how Edmund’s past life in Narnia and what happened to him then colour his experience second time around, and how he deals with this when acknowledging (to himself) how he feels about Caspian.  The LJ link goes to my journal, where comments are screened.
Summary: For Ed, everything about this is simple.  Except everything that isn’t.

FIC: Not Enough

Title: Not Enough
Characters: Caspian X, Edmund Pevensie, Ramandu’s Daughter (mentioned)
Pairings: Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie, Caspian X/Ramandu’s Daughter (implied)
Rating: T
Setting: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, before/during the visit to Ramandu’s Island
Disclaimer: Characters, etc., you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.
Notes: Bookverse, with filmverse casting.  This returns to themes explored in That’s The Deal, about Edmund’s imminent departure from Caspian’s life and how he recognises and deals (or fails to deal) with the part Ramandu’s daughter will play in Caspian’s future.  The title and the lyrics quoted at the beginning of this piece are both from the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.  The LJ link goes to my journal, where comments are screened.
Summary: For Ed, this is seeing the future; he doesn’t like what it’s showing him.

FIC: The Breaking Point

Title: The Breaking Point
Character(s): Caspian X, Edmund Pevensie
Pairing: Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie
Rating: T
Setting: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, at some point past the Lone Islands.
Disclaimer: Characters, etc., you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.
Notes: I’d call this fluff, but I suspect it’s too sexually-charged to pull that off.  The POV changes in this story; changes are marked by three asterisks in a line, like so: ***  The LJ link goes to my journal, where comments are screened.
Summary: You want this.  And the wanting exceeds your willingness, and ability, to ignore it.

FIC: Rampart (Steady As An Anchor)

Title: Rampart (Steadfast As An Anchor)
Character(s): Caspian X, Edmund Pevensie
Pairing: Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie
Rating: T
Disclaimer: Characters, etc., you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.
Notes: The LJ link goes to my journal, where comments are screened.  The summary is a quote from Nietzche.
Summary: He who has a why to live for, can bear almost any how.

FIC: A Riddle, Wrapped In A Mystery

Title: A Riddle, Wrapped In A Mystery
Character(s): Caspian X, Edmund Pevensie
Pairing: Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie
Rating: M
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.
Setting: Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Notes: The rating is for the general topic, Ed's reaction to his mistreatment by Pug & Co.  I'm in the middle of writing a missing scene-cum-sequel that has Caspian and Ed addressing the latter's reaction to his emotional trauma more directly, which will probably take the same rating.  I work on the premise that a rating that's too high is preferable to one that's too low.  Beta'd by glory_jean.  LJ links go to my journal, where comments are screened.
Summary: Perhaps, to you, the Just King is destined to stay a riddle, wrapped in a mystery.  For ever.

DRABBLE: On The Outside, Looking In

Title: On The Outside, Looking In
Character(s): Lucy Pevensie
Pairing: Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie
Rating: T
Notes: My Narnia fic is a blend of film and book elements (broadly speaking this means film casting/setting, and book timelines/dates, unless otherwise specified).  This is set after the battle with the Sea Serpent but before Ramandu's Island.  The link goes to my LJ, where comments are screened.
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.

( Caspian and Ed, as seen through a Lucy-shaped prism. )

Drabble: Last Chance Saloon

Title: Last Chance Saloon
Character(s): Caspian X, Edmund Pevensie
Pairing: Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie
Rating: T
Notes: My Narnia fic is a blend of film and book elements (broadly speaking this means film casting/setting, and book timelines/dates, unless otherwise specified).  This is inspired by this GIF, and could be considered Brother from Caspian's POV.  The link goes to my LJ, where comments are screened.
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.

( This is the last chance you're likely to get – and you've just screwed it up. )

FIC:: The Beginning Of Always

Well, I say fic, but in practice this is a double-drabble.  Enjoy!

Title: The Beginning Of Always
Character(s)/POV: Edmund Pevensie, Caspian X
Pairing: Caspian X/Edmund Pevensie
Rating: T
Notes: The setting of this straddles Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and is a blend of film and book elements (broadly speaking, this means film casting/setting, and book timelines). The title is from a quote by Dante Alighieri: "Remember tonight... for it is the beginning of always." The fake cut goes to my journal; comments there are screened.
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.
Summary: How do you define a beginning?

( How do you define a beginning? )

I bring drabble-fic

I fell in love with this pairing on sight about a week ago, after watching a fan vid on YouTube.  If I ever read the books, it was decades ago when I was a child; I haven't watched either of the films Caspian appears in, either, although I intend to when I get my hands on them.

Have some fic (although only a drabble, at this point) as an introduction of sorts:

Title: Brother
Character(s): Edmund
Pairing: Caspian/Edmund (implied)
Rating: U
Timeline: Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to C. S. Lewis.
Notes: Film-verse casting; book-verse timeline
Summary: The difference between meaning and intent.

“I want you to know I think of you as my brother, Ed.”

Perhaps you do.

But when you’re stumbling over your words, Caspian, when you’ve spent weeks looking at me as if you want to eat me alive, when your reticence and tone and inability to look me in the eye as you say it lends credence to the idea that you mean something else entirely, then forgive me if I remain unconvinced.

You keep using that word “brother”, Caspian.  I don't think it means what you think it means.

Or not what you want it to mean, anyway.
